AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her debut in professional football and played in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In 2012's London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which makes her the youngest and sixth most prolific athlete in the nation to score 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was included in the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
